Bamboozled, Mystified, discombobulated... what other word can we use to express shock please? That's how I felt when I learnt Zac Efron had secretly gone into rehab not for alcohol, but for the big "C".. yeah, yeah Cocaine! (excuse me while I let my mouth hang open).
No, this is not me being judgemental or anything. I mean, it's Zac Efron from High School Musical, HairSpray and all those cute movies. Such a cute looking, harmless dude, I felt so sad.
You remember Glee sweetheart, Cory Monteith's addiction which he later died from right? he also looked so cute and innocent.
According to TMZ, three sources confirmed that aside from cocaine, he also dabbled in Molly -- a pure form of Ecstasy, and a popular drug in clubs. And that early this year, Zac and some friends went on a coke rager in a room at the SkyLofts at the MGM Grand in Vegas and caused around $50k in damage(HMMM..)
It's reported that he completed his stay at the rehab earlier this year (and we're just knowing now, top secret huh?) and is doing great. Here's hoping and praying he doesn't go back to drugs... stay away from drugs people, it's never the solution; it will kill you DEAD!
Did not expect this but what can we say, welcome to Crazywood (hollywood)!! Hope he stays clean; you'd think they will learn from their Ancestors (late addicted Artists) but eish no.

ReplyDeleteSad as always when u hear a story like this. One would think that a young man like this, doing so well would be more sensible. However, d blame alone can't be heaped on these young ones. I believe that drugs of some sort is d life of Hollywood. U have to be extra sensible not to dabble into it. Not to get started on the fact that the western culture and society has failed in terms of family input and support. Once ur child is 18 and above, esp in that showbiz circle, u give them space, u don't intrude in their personal life; what crap! !! At 20+ I still had curfews and my father would have beaten me silly if I defaulted. Drugs was some alien thot that only happened in movies. Bottomline, western culture is a bittersweet experience and I wish Nigerians would realise that b4 we allow their cultureless culture take over our society.
